January 2019

No one ever said, “I should spend more time on Facebook.”

No one ever put “Check Facebook Newsfeed” on their to-do list.

No one ever thought, “Today I’ll let Facebook force-feed me an endless stream of auto-playing videos.”

But I know I’ve found myself doing exactly that. It’s just so easy. But it’s not why I signed up for Facebook to begin with. I suspect it’s not why any of us signed up to begin with.

So I’m gonna take a break. Starting January 1, 2019, I’m going to try a month without Facebook.

Not a boycott. Not a condemnation. No outrage. Just a reset. I’m hoping by doing a reset on my use of Facebook, I can focus on what aspects I really need and what aspects I can and should live without.

And I’m opening up this little experiment to my family and friends…and you. The more people join in, the easier it will be for all of us.

Fast forward in your mind to January 31st.

How will you feel, having gone without Facebook for a month?

Will you have forgotten why you used to spend 27 min a day in the app? (that’s the daily average!)

What will you have accomplished when you kept that time for yourself rather than giving it away to Facebook?

If you're like me, you can't wait to find out. Learn more at tryamonthwithout.com.
